Sprites, Lizards and an Ogre (03/10/2004)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Barony Soldiers,

The Baron requires your services. We have reliable information that the Village headman of Postlethwaite Down has passed on a
'tax rise' that the Baron did not make.
Headman Courges has clearly broken the law and must be dealt with appropriately, however there are secondary considerations.
Reports to me in two days time when the Pathfinders have all returned and I will brief you more extensively then.
Captain Avon

Debrief:
Well done for nipping the Postlethwaite situation in the bud, men. If Courges had managed to use the ogre to intimidate all
the local inhabitants we might have had a full scale bandit king on our hands!
Courges has been ressurrected and is undergoing treatment for his disobedience of the law at the Temple of Order.
Pathfinder Cortez is doing well and is happy to have her hand back thanks to the Temple of Balance - good work saving her
life.
The elf that you brought back with you has resisted our attempts to ressurrect it and indeed seems to be resisting the
attempts to communicate with it from beyond the grave. All he will say to date is "god grovellers" before breaking the
miracles contact. However the Temple of Might have taken this a personal affront and I understand expect results within the
week.

- (+1) Darkly ninjarous so didn't see too much of you, however the ninja hand to hand fight with the Shock Lizards was very

DominicD [Aurinyan] 7
- The play test of Aurinyan with assorted power downs worked well - perhaps you could post a full list of what power downs

FlorianS [Rain] 7
- Some well used Slows helped the party a lot in the last fight, as did Ice Blades throughout. Good maging well done.

JamesW [Blaine] 7

The Road (26/09/2004)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
With the news of Baron Scaffold's arrest and the isolation of GC Johen's troops with other citizens of the Kingdom, the
Prince has sent an order for the Barony to prepare a road to integrate Johen's outpost with the Barony. The road will allow
easy and quick reinforcement of the stockade.
However, news has reached the Baron that something has forced many druids to move into the dense forests between these lands.
For a more diplomatic resolution, the Baron has asked for some adventurers to proceed into the forests and ask the druids if
there is a 'natural' way of moving these trees to avoid the destruction that would otherwise be caused. Your mission is to
find a friendly druid sect and persuade them to help.

Debrief:
The resolution of the mission goals was excellent, the results are fantastic. Despite Guard Captain G'Mord's complaints about
the druids not being able to pave it we are using the road, and the outpost has been reinforced. Baron Scaffold is now on his
way to the capital for questioning, and we have some new friends from the border.

*** Mission ***

Brief:
'We all know peasants are prone to wild rumours. However, when they go as far as to abandon their hamlets and farmsteads and
tell of trolls on a rampage, it is investigated further. The initial patrol returned shaken, claiming the ground had heaved
under them and their pathfinder gibbering of a colossal Rock Troll.
You are the second patrol. With your experience, we hope you can gather a good deal more information about the threat, and
find some way to delay it whilst it is still outside our borders so that we may act on the intelligence you provide us with.'

Scaffold: Holy Sands (03/09/2004)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Calling all patrol members, I request that all patrol members report to me in the stockade tomorrow in the afternoon/evening
some time, to be precise. Now that things have settled it is time to make a move...

Captain Johen

Debrief:
After the arrest of the Baron, Guard Captain Johen assigned a party to escort him to the Kingdom and Justice. During their
travel, the trees literally part before the party speeding their journey and leading them to the Kingdom with great haste.
Awaiting trial in his luxury penthouse "cell" the Baron languishes in decadence and excess.

The body of High Master Slain has been interred by the Temple of Might, no news is expected.

The other, self-styled, "Loyalists" have unanimously undertaken a change of heart and pledged allegiance to the Barony and
the newly promoted Overcaptain Johen, who retains control of the Barony in the interim.

Relations with the Scarabs remains steady, however, their territory does not. The shifting holy sands make maintenance of a
fixed border impossible but, so far, this has caused no conflict.

The Black Clad Men, revealed to be a Hassani group once known as the 13th Scorpion Scouts, have once again disappeared. Still
very little is known of them, little of the information is consistent and what we do know raises more questions than it
answers.

Even less is known of the tentacle faced creatures that attacked the stockade. Many of the reports are contradictory some
even self contradictory, therefore, all actions undertaken at the time are being treated with leniency.

Attention!

Men, your service of the year has been most satisfactory. As such I would be more than happy to keep any of you on under my
command in the future. However, I can understand that after being out on the frontier all this time some of you may wish to
get back into the city, therefore, all transfer requests have been granted.

Good luck in the future and remember that there is always a home for you in the sandy, assassin infested outlands of the
Kingdom!

*** Comments ***

1) Just one negative comment on the dune incident, the scouts not only got in front of the party, but went passed the
monsters as well. IC this left the party 2 men down when they were in a bad situation with some ghouls, and OOC some of us
had to trawl across the sand dunes in case some freakish accident had occurred or you got lost, hence the negatives...

Scaffold: The plague spreads III (25/07/2004)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Repeated efforts to clear the disease have had limited success, however, new epedemics seem to be spreading from the area of
forest where the Druids and undead were encountered previously. As such, you are to enter this area of the forest, find the
source of the disease and deal with it.
Also, due to the distinct lack of life healers recently I have managed to arrange for the Chalice of Life to be smuggled out
of Scaffolds keep. The contact will meet you in the forest, I believe that this item will be of much use.

Debrief:
The presence of a demon at the centre of all this explains much of the recent occourances. Mantis' heroic sacrifice will not
be forgotten, he will be Ressurected immidiately.
Lady Amanda successfully returned the head of Sir Brave. He was Ressurected successfully but before questioning slung the
Lady Amanda across his shoulder and left the stockade, brandishing his sword, declaring his intentions to "Rid this world of
thy vile reptilian menace!". Lady Amanda seemed rather pleased with the situation, therefore, we felt little need to stop
them.

The undertaker (11/07/2004)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
The guards formally request volunteers for a mission to investigate the whereabouts of a missing patrol, sent out earlier
this week. No contact has been made with the patrol for 4 days now, and so we can only assume the worst.

Debrief:
All is quiet as the early morning patrol approaches what they can only assume is the home of the undertaker, ten days after
the original contact was made. No sign of the mysterious individual can be seen, although his tomb is clearly visible. Tracks
of man, beast and animal veer away from the entrance. It seems the aura of the sacred temple does not invite the living. A
top a small knoll nearby lay the bodies of Redemption and the members of the lost patrol. They reek of preserves and despite
being deceased nearly two weeks now are in perfect condition. A note is found attached to the Paladin:

Members of the Baron's Army.

I have delivered the bodies you requested as agreed. I cannot mourn enough the loss I feel as these noble warriors leave my
halls however. I urge you not to corrupt their soul by bringing them back from the dead. They are where they belong now.

If you have any fallen warriors who wish to spend their eternity within the hallowed halls of the blessed you know where to
find me.

If you find any necromancers you wish punished for their sins for all eternity within the halls of the damned you know where
to find me.

unfortunate. Alternate investigations are underway, you will be called together again once the true threat has been

1) Things have really gone down hill lately. The start time has become a joke, I admit I was late, but we didn't start until
2, despite a standard start time of 11 - 11.30. Taking inspiration from the old school larpers, please post to the board with
whether you want to play, or monster, what character you want to use, and your rank. I'll endevor to do my part in the
preparations and write LARPs more thoughroughly (sp?) but please make it worth my while and make the effort to get to the
car park by 11.30. If you need lifts, organise them before hand.

2) As for the actual LARPs, people are getting more and more OOC during LARPs. If you want to chat, think of something in
character to talk about, and, players/monsters, please avoid chatting to each other too much, otherwise negative points will
have to be a regular occourance to offset the time wasting. I don't want to totally destroy the social aspect of the LARPs,
but it has gone to extremes.

3) Players, please remember your talants and, more importantly, your weaknesses. There are occations when you have to assume
a role your character isn't adept at, but these should be rare occations.

4) Also, if you want your characters to die (there are several suicidal characters) or can't be bothered with roleplaying,
consider this, there are plenty of people who would rather not monster and relieve you of the 'burden' of playing.

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Hello, my wonderful escorts. I thought I was shot of you, but it seems a business opportunity has arisen, thanks entirely to
your good selves.

I have a task I need you to do for me, and you will undertake it, because in return I can offer you the last possible hope
for one of your 'comrades'.

You see, I have the mage Phoenix' finger. This was merely a trophy to me of her demise, until sometime yesterday....when the
Scarabs cremated the rest of her body.

I trust you realise it is not only her chance at escape but also in fact now her last chance at renewed life on this Plane. I
will find you on your next patrol and give you your task. Don't think to try anything stupid - a finger is a fragile thing.
This time you are not negotiating from a position of strength.
Noamuth

Debrief:
*Skulk long before had returned the finger to Guard Captain Johen who, in turn, passed it on to the Temple (room) of Justice,
there it lay in the ressurection que*
*picking up the finger the priest says*
"Wizard Pheonix next I believe, are you sure this is the biggest part?";
*taking the finger the priest places it on a bed*
*uttering a few words and placing his hands upon the finger the elf is ressurected*
"Arrrgh!";
*the naked elf screams*
*she throws herself from the bed and crawls to a corner clasping her knees*
"this isn't Pheonix!? I remember her from the last time she needed our power..."
*taking a robe to the elf, the priest tries to comfort her*
*the elf begins mumbling something over and over*
"What's that, my child?"
"....th...ang...eee...orth..wes..."
"I can't understand, slow down, breath."
"...thehangingtreenorthwestthehangingtreenorthwestthehangingtreenorthwest..."
"the hanging tree? north west? What?"
"SHES AT THE TREE! THE TREE!!!"
*the elf sobbs violently and crumples into the priests arms*
"I won't go back *sob* you won't make me go back *sob* the darkness, the darkness, darkness... dark.. dark..."
*the priest picks up the broken elf and places her in the bed, he covers her and smooths her hair to calm her*
*turning to the other priest*
"Go now to the Pathfinders, tell them to search for a finger near a tree, a 'hanging tree', in the north west. Hurry!"
*the priest turns back to the elf, a look of pity, daring not to think of the horrors the poor girl must have endured*
"Thank Justice they made the trade in honour, no doubt Pheonix would be lost to us forever, without that. I only hope the
Drow fills his end of the bargin..."

*Daenaram has seen the other priest coming out of the res room, and engages him in conversation.

Soon after, a casual observer would note a white faced elf bolting down the steps of the Temple of Justice like he'd just
stolen something and heading off without slowing down in the direction of the Pathfinders Guildhouse.*

*as Daenaram delievers his message a fellow Pathfinder jogs up behind him*

"D, been looking everywhere for ya. You not coming? I thought you were friends with that Pheonix girl?"

*he passes Daenaram a staff, and turns round*

"I think I know this 'hanging tree' that poor elf was talking about, don't worry we've got authorisation, come on!"

*at that he begins to run towards the main gate, no doubt with Daenaram in tow*

*the pathfinders use their greatest skill to avoid the Scarab patrols, weaving between trees and leaping through bushes*
*eventually they come to a curious sight, a tree suspended by it's roots protruding, hanging, from a cliff face*
"This is the hanging tree" says the first pathfinder, "the druids in the area named it that..."
*the pathfinder begins to climb a vine hanging from the tree then braces himself between the trunk and the cliff*
*looking around he notices a bottle*
"There's a bottle up here, it's got a note inside!" he called down "and a finger! This is it!"
*leaping down, bottle in one hand note in the other, he unrolls the small scroll and reads*

"You were lucky this time. Remember, I always negotiate from a position of strength, never try to cross me."

"Well, let's get this back to the Barony, there's only one way to find out if it's her..."

*eventually the Pathfinders approach the Barony*
*Daenaram takes the bottle containing the finger and sprints the final distance to the justice temple (ahem, room)*

"ah, another ressurectee put the... finger over there. We'll get to it shortly..."

*frustrated Daenaram leaves*
*glancing to one side he notices an elf laying on a bed in one corner, her teeth clenched, eyes flickering and unrestful in
her sleep...*

*eventually, the que get's round to the bottle containing the dessecated finger*
"Let's hope they got it right this time..."
*with a few words and a gesture of the hands the miracle is cast*
"Ah, good, it is you this time, Wizard Pheonix. How do you feel?"

*Phoenix looks around the room*
"I.. uh.. How long was I out?"
"Almost 2 weeks, and captured.."
"Captured?"
"Daenaram Fearsbane brought you in yesterday."
"He did? Is he here? And.."
*She stops short*
"..where are my clothes?"

She is handed some clothes which have been brought over from her quarters.

"Daenaram and Pilgrim are waiting outside for you.."

The priest doesn't get a chance to finish before she's dressed and out the door.

1) Please try to work together, the party cohereancy was slightly better, due to the extra guards, but back-up mages and
priests need to back-up better. Whether this is the fault of the mage/priest for not giving out power, or the fact that no
one asked for it isn't important. One way or another try to work together better.

2) As a point of note, the undead fight that reamed the party. Blesses all round (or on a select few) could have saved the
fight, as could have the immunities to drain life. It's not like you didn't think about it, you just decided to forget about
it half way through the fight.

The party is to move through the neutral zone and meet with a negotiator specifically selected by the Baron himself. Escort
the negotiator to the Scarabs camp, protecting him as best as possible and answering to his requests, assuming they don't put
the party into immediate danger.

Debrief:
It seems the Baron always intended for the drow 'negotiator' to assassinate the Scarab leader. We are unsure of the 'Avatar
of Ra's' actual position in the hierarchy, but the message sent to the Scarabs is definately clear.
The rebellious Barony citizens are of concern, but we have greater concerns at the moment. Once the immidiate threat is dealt
with matters of treachery will be attended.
The hostage situation is yet to be approached officially, scouts are currently investigating...

They disappear at night, mostly I (25/01/2004)

Brief:
The village of Silverball, located near the edge of the Borderlands, has recently been having its citizens suddenly disappear
without leaving a trace. The people are generally noticed missing in the morning and it is believed that they mainly vanish
during the night. A pathfinder patrol has been sent to investigate, but has found no signs of any unusual activity in the
area, or any strange tracks going to/from the village. The patrol are asked to research this matter further, liasing with

Scaffold: War of the Druids III (07/12/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:

Debrief:
The return of the staff to the non-dark druids, their initial attack on the dark druids themselves and the continued
assistance in attacking orcs seems to indicate that the black clad man/men are a potential ally and friend, yet their
reluctance to communicate with us is still a concern. The black clad mans apparent training with the druids may, in time,
give this mysterious individual powers that we cannot prepare for, therefore, remain on your guard. Also the current count
for the black clad men is at least 3 and possibly much more.

The reported ritual completed by the druids with the items you assisted in retrieving was felt throughout the barony. First
indications are that it is a vastly powerful ritual designed to promote growth and health in all life within miles of the
ritual, and have a significant draining effect on the dark druids. Reports inform that at the time the ritual was completed,
plant creatures were observed collapsing to nothing but their constituant plant matter. The power of this ritual is not to be
underestimated, we are hopeful however, that due to your assistance the non-dark druids will not oppose us in our expansion.

banning bows as of yet, though I will be keeping note when ever they come out. Other issues are grappling, although used
reasonably well this LARP, be careful. Used in the right situation strength 'holds' can work well, however, inappropriate
and/or dangerous use of grappling won't go down very well...

Scaffold: War of the Druids II (30/11/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:

Debrief:
The primary mission objective was completed. The artifact may not have been retrieved, but out of the hands of the dark
druids the immidiate threat is lessened.

The encounter with the black clad men concerns the board. An individual roaming the forest observing our missions was a
potential security risk, the fact that this individual is now a group suggests organisation beyond what we had expected. Yet,
still, the actions of this group currently seem to coincide with ours, at this time they are not a threat, however, the
reports of them incanting the words of death do not bode well. Unfortunatly their ability to move at great speed and with
almost unnatural stealth means tracking them seems nigh on impossible. All I can hope is that you [the party] can make
contact with him, or with them, next time you cross paths.

The Dark Druid who's dead body you retrieved, seems to be resisting ressurection. The undead with him may have been raised
through the powers of death, or perhaps through a rudimentary understanding of necromancy. We may never know the truth.

Scaffold: War of the Druids I (23/11/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
The news of the massing Druids has been passed onto the Board of Guild representatives. The decision to act was unanimous. A
number of parties are to be formed and move on the Dark Druids in an attempt to pre-empt an attack and defeat them before
their forces grow to over whelming numbers. For the mission I hope to obtain a guide from the numbers of the 'life' Druids.
Your group will have the specific task of retrieving the Druidic artefact and taking out any of the Dark Druids guarding the
item.

A number of other parties will be formed to act as clean up squads and distractions from our main plan, with their forces
spread to combat our parties, and with the assistance of the 'life' Druids, we hope to be able to quash this uprising before
it can take hold.

Your secondary mission is to use our 'assistance' of the 'life' Druids and the return of their artefact as leverage to
negotiate a treaty for expansion of the Barony and non-agression.

As a tertiary objective be sure to continue your efforts to apprehend the masked figure. Despite friendly actions we still
need to speak to this individual and discover it's intentions.

Mantis, Judge Iussis, Humact Touton

Your theological and moral grievances will not be tolerated if they interfere with your orders. Iussis, your non-combatance
is accepted due to the actual repecussions of agressive actions from one of your path, however, that is as far as I will go
in my lineancy. That which we create cannot be without destruction, similarly life can only be truely appreciated in the
presence of death. But above all the Laws will be obeyed, my orders will be obeyed. Is that understood?

Debrief:
The rate of production of the plant constructs was grieviously underestimated. You are currently not held responsable for the
mission failure. The destruction of so many of the Druids plants has stemmed the tides for now, and border patrols have been
attempting to safely keep the numbers down, however, whilst the Dark Druids have the Artefact, it is expected that there will
be an almost never ending supply of these creatures.

The unfortunate loss of the Druid guide has caused some friction between the barony and the non-Dark Druids. Despite the
immidiate ressurection of the monkey Druid, they lay the blame upon us and refuse to send another guild. So we have no choice
but to re-enter the forest unaided.

The presence of these 'neutral' Druids is good news. There are, as far as we know, two distinct groups of Druids, the Dark
Druids and those which oppose them. So assuming they weren't Dark Druids attempting to mislead you, we can be sure there is
still significant opposition to the Dark Druids out there.

Guard Blaine,

Your insistance to continue the mission is a credit to your loyalty to the Barony. However, whilst on patrol your first
concern is the Barony citizens in immidiate need of your assistance. Continuing with the mission unaided would have left the
party at risk and would almost certainly have led to your death. In the future consider your actions and there potential
repecussions, I do not want to hear that you have had to be forcfully removed from a situation by a mage and a heal again.
Is that understood?

Guard Captain Johen

Pathfinder Fearsbane,

Your mistaken identification of corrosion from the tracks of the Druids was a foolish mistake and one that should not have
been made by a Pathfinder. However, your small mistake has caused no harm, other than wasting some of your time in research.
Remember the words of the Pathfinders handbook "Do not look too hard for something that isn't there, you will inevitably
find it."

1) Thanks for everyone turning up in the utterly crap weather. Sorry it was a little short, after your initial loss of MatthewA
you were then outnumbered 8 to 6 which didn't help. You were in a bad position and you really can't expect to win outright
every time. It was the correct choice to turn back, though perhaps you should have turned back sooner...

2) My only other critisism is to the mages. Be careful about using your power, the dessimation of the orcs may have been
impressive, however, it may not have been nessesary which would have left you with much more power for later fights. Also,
lack of talismens is a constant drain on healers that again could be used elsewhere for more effect...

Scaffold: Return to the Grove (16/11/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Attention men!

Despite your enthusiasum for capturing the masked creature it is some what difficult to mount a mission with the intension of
its capture. As you all know the only occourances of sightings have been by yourselves and, I am now authorised to release,
the other parties our on missions. Invairiably, sightings are brief and unimformative. We have no where to start. However,
should the opportunity arrise to capture or, at the very least, converse with this individual I order you to do so.

As for the events of the last 5 weeks, we are none the wiser to the source of the disease. It seems to have been limited to
the Barony. This may be due to a racial jump between ourselves and the goblinoids, though there was transmission between
humans and elves. Explanations are not forthcoming. The creature who named himself Lucian De'ville is our main suspect, since
he seems to have gained the most from the epedemic, however, the masked creature and the Druids have not been proven innocent
as of yet.

As such a mission is being arranged to return to the Druids groves, attempt to gain information on the disease and initiate
negotiations with both groups (assuming you can find them) to attempt to end any hostilities before they begin.

Guard Captain Johen

Debrief:
The deaths and grievious injuries within the party were unfortunate. The failure of the mission was seemingly unavoidable.
The mages thank you for the safe retrieval of Mage Thespious, you were not expected to cross paths with that party, yet it
seems fortunate you did.

Of most importance is the information you bring of the massing Dark Druid forces. It was hoped that the ensuing hostilities
between the two druid sects would eliminate the dark druids, however, our scouts report further massing of the plant
creatures near our boarders. We have no standing army as such, you, and the other patrols, are our first line of defence.

The reports on the actions of the masked creature are most interesting. We may have a potential ally in this individual yet I
urge you not to let your guards down, it is still an unknown factor and, as far as I can tell, only attacked the orcs when
you were all but dead. The unpredictable nature of this individual concerns The Board, remain vigilant.

1) Your party coherancy wasn't quite as good as usual this LARP, hence the deaths and injuries. I personally blame your
exposure to the high level LARP :-) Basically, if you stick together it's very hard for monsters to make any serious headway.
This isn't totally on the fighters to deal with, mages/priests you should make the effort to stick with the guards, they
should be too busy fighting to worry about where you are. Only a minor point, on the whole you were all pretty good.

The Evil Temple-Tomb of Elemental Horror (09/11/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Calling all heroes! The Barony is calling for its finest to join a special Task Force required to deal with an ancient evil
once and for all.

An experimental team of College researchers charged with guarding the safety of the Barony from inter-dimensional threats,
known as Department 12, have made an alarming discovery.

As you are doubtlessly aware, there are many realms layered above and below our reality. The realms of Order and of Life are
two of the more benevolent examples. Most beings cannot move freely between these realms without divine or magical
intervention, but there are ways open to the initiated.

One of these 'travellers' is not a person, but a place. Known only as 'The Evil Temple-Tomb of Elemental Horror' - a name
which barely begins to describe this hellish abomination - its very existence has so far been a closely-kept secret of all
but the most bookish orders of priests and mages.

Until now.

Ancient sources and documents detail very clearly the existence of the Evil Temple-Tomb of Elemental Horror. Though almost
nothing is known of it's origin, the nature of this awesome, hideous building is well recorded. A massive stone goliath of a
structure, the Temple-Tomb appears to drift between Planes, shifting from one to another on a centuries-long cosmic cycle. We
have documents and word-of-mouth folk-lore accounts from the Hassani of the last time the Temple appeared on this Plane, and
there are even fragments available from the time before that.

Alarming portents have shown that this temple of malevolent evil is about to reappear in our realm of existence. The Baron
has ordered an elite task force of heroes to be assembled to face the threat which this poses to the safety and security of
the Barony and all the peoples who depend on it.

We have already collected the task force together needed to detect its arrival and pinpoint its location. All that remains
is to assemble the group of heros that will enter and destroy this most abominable creation. This is a volunteer-only
mission, and only the best, brightest, strongest and most valiant of the Barony's troops and allies need apply.

Please will the volunteers who have been appointed present themselves at the Department 12 Situational Headquarters (Car
Park A) on Sunday, 9th November 2003, where a more detailed briefing will take place.

The safety of the Barony rests on your shoulders!

MarcusO [G'Mord] 15
- (+1) The clothes-swap with AilsaB's succubus to smuggle her out of 'Hell's Angels' (or was it so that you could stay
there?!) was inspired, as was your reaction to being feared in the Room of Whispers.

TonyC [Caffrey] 15
- (+1) We loved the charmed Caffrey in 'Hell's Angels'! Your roleplaying of Convulse was great, and you dished out some
serious damage to our undead with your Bless 7 - Holy whirling staff, Batman!

MikeT [Kendal] 15
- (+1) You were the brains of the group and even outwitted one of the statues by yourself. Good work being a party member
who took an interest in translating our lovely signs... Great roleplaying in the Room of Surface Thoughts and Tensions.

StephenE [Lomax] 15
- (+1) Even better roleplay in Surface Thoughts, provided *two* secrets [hmmm, the blackmail possibilities >;)], impressive
final battle power up, showed how a priest should power up, when he really, *really* needs it.

DominicD [Aurinyan] 14
- Good roleplay of terrified Illuminati plus running fight with Shadowmaster. Yucky aura.

PaulW [Biscuit] 14
- Hussy for succubus and incubus - how could he be immune to that couple of Charmers?! Creativity in dealing with Temple
  obstacles.

PeterO [Tarrack] 14
- Grumpy priest especially in 'Hell's Angels' - that poor succubus was trying so hard as well! Very funny and in-character
thoughts in Surface Thoughts (everyone being useless).

MatthewA [MadJim] 14
- Well done for the controlled berserk in 'Hell's Angels' - that encounter might never have taken place otherwise! You also
took the opportunity to flash the Evil Party (but should we be encouraging this?!). Sweet thoughts in the Room of Surface
Thoughts and Tensions (along the lines of "I might die, but let the party live!")

  Thank you so much!

JamesW 8

KatieB 8
- (+1) Summoner, Succubus, Temple Wraith - you played them all with superb improvisation. We especially loved the demon
  summoning ritual!

RyanL 8
- (+1) Playing Vortex was its own reward, so this bonus point goes to your portrayal of the Doon barbarian, especially for
  the mocking of Mad Jim!

AdrianB 8
- (+1) Really good Troll, particularly the roleplay surrounding your death at the hands of your own party and subsequent
regeneration, hey, it saved our standing, you know ;)

NatalieW 8
- (+1) Mega effort on succubus and your costume, such a shame it was dark, so we couldn't see you in all your glory! Also,
freezing to death on the party's behalf went above and beyond the call of duty ;)

1) Great roleplaying from all the party in 'Hell's Angels' and the Room of Surface Thoughts and Tensions. Impressive work
getting past statues and Beholder. It's a shame we had to take out a couple of encounters when you cheekily had the succubi
transport you to the final battle - but there'll be another time!

2) All the succubi made a great effort with their costumes, it's just a shame it was dark by the time the party got to
'Hell's Angels'. Thanks to all the monsters who made the statues, the beholder, the Whisperers and especially the Temple
Wraiths work so well. You were reliable, helpful, challenging and scary all at once!

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Attention men!

Due to the situation last week with the Druids it has been decided, by the Board of Guilds, that you will be sent out to
negotiate with both groups of Druids to attempt to smooth over any hostilities they may have towards us. The Dark Druids
offer to give us the forest in exchange for leaving their grove alone is acceptable, and if possible make a similar agreement
with the other Druids. These small patches of forest can be ignored in preferance to initiating an ongoing fight with the
Druids.

Also, as a secondary mission, it has been requested that the party check up on the outlying farms. Healer Freesher is
concerned about a disease he has discovered. The disease (Freeshers flu) may be a problem in the peasents due to their lack
of cleanliness and poor diet.

Keep your eyes peeled for any black clad figures. We feel it may simply be observing the party, but remain cautious none the
less.

Finally, all superstitions related to this time of year are simply that, superstitions. They have no bearing on fact and
should not be paid any attention.

That is all.

Guard Captain Johen

Debrief:
You are all to be commended on your activities 2 weeks ago. Undoubtedly you paid a large part in saving the Barony, along
with the Paladins you can be confident that you are in favor with the Baron himself.

The chalice you retrieved has enabled our healers to cure and seemingly vaccinate the Baronys population from the disease,
Freeshers flu. Experiments by a research team, formed by High Master Extravitous, have discovered that the powers of the
chalice protect against Freeshers flu alone, all other diseases investigated seem as virulent as ever.

These facts increase our suspision of the individual who introduced himself as Lucian De'ville, however, due to his enigmatic
nature, we can find no evidence to back this up. Of course, this lack of evidence means that other parties are still
potential culprits.

The death of Humact Touton was most unfortunate, none of the Board can fathom what may have happened to allow him to destroy
himself. Certainly he is not undead, since he is now ressurected, however, if that were not the case then his miracle would
have had no effect. For this, and the other events reported, to have occoured I believe there must have been a greater power
influencing you all. I am afraid that we may never gain the answers to our questions, yet I am more fearful that we may get
the chance.

Once again men, you have the Barony's thanks.

1) Well done everyone, despite our evil statting only one of you managed to die, against all probability too! The sweets may
have been more helpful than we first envisaged, however, you didn't eat them without risk, some of you came very close a
couple of times *eg* (what to? I hear you ask, you may never know...). I hope everyone had fun, and were suitably scared
throughout, it was fun writing and preparing for the LARP at the very least. All I have to do now is try and think of a way
to out do a Gelatinous Cube...

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Attention men.

Despite the fact that the apparent threat of undead has been dealt with, there is still much work to be done. We have
recieved reports from our Pathfinders of sightings of humanoid creatures in the North-West. Despite their skill our men could
not get close enough to make proper observations. From the distace their observations were made the Pathfinders cannot
comfirm race or numbers. However, from the general attitude of the individuals, Goblinoids seem unlikely.

Your mission is to investigate these sightings, clear out any hostiles and enter into diplomatic discussions if nessesary.

We are unsure if these sightings and your reports of the masked individual spotted last week are connected, or if there is
any threat, but, as always, remain vigilent.

That is all,

For Baron Sca'ara Fo'uld!

Debrief:
The possibilities of Druids in the area was not totally unexpected. Despite the violent end to the encounter your attempts at
diplomacy seem to have gone well. It is normal practice for Kingdom Baronies to for an alliance with the local, non-dark,
Druids since they have a very specialist knowlege of the wilderness and are commonly a great aid. However, because of the
expansive nature of our Barony an alliance seems unlikely, we also got this impression when the two druids recovered were
Ressurected and proptly left. Despite their less agreeable nature an alliance with the Dark Druids seems more benifitial.

The attacks on the Orcs is always an aid to the Barony, keep it up. As for the plant creatures reported, it is possible that
they are natural preditors of the forest, or they could be unnatural creations, we are not in a position to say. Further
reports of this black clad figure concern the Board. As alway remain vigilant and until we know it's intent do not take any
unnessesary risks.

Finally, Humact Touton has now been Ressurected and should be available for further missions.

Guard Blaine,

You fight from the Dark Druid is not considered a failure, with more training and experiance you will learn to overcome your
fear, and your mental strength will develop. Again, from all reports, other than your own, you performed admirably.

Pathfinder Fearsbane,

Your report is more than adequet. Detailing every individual fought and in what manner is not nessesary, but may be of
interest to others.

Scaffold: Death in the Forest (19/10/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Attention men!

I am glad to see you have been debating the nature of Undead and Necromancers, and I am especially happy to see that you have
come to the correct conclusion. Undead are abominations and Necromancers are criminals. Unfortunately you are going to be
able to put your views into practical use.

After your discovery of the Undead Lumberjacks a scouting group was sent out to investigate the area. They did not find the
source of the Undead, however, they did observe a number of Undead patrolling the forest. The majority of undead were
skeletal and simply rotting goblins, but the occasional larger humanoid undead creature was observed in the groups. The larger
creatures were probably orcs or the like, though, it is possible they were once human.

Your primary mission is to enter the forest, find and arrest the creator of these Undead. If the Necromancer is Undead itself
then destroy it also, finally, if the Necromancer resists arrest then use lethal force. Your secondary mission is to destroy
the undead in the area.

We are new to this region and the locals, whoever they are, will not be adhering to Kingdom laws. We are here to expand the
Kingdom and enforce it's laws so we will not make compromises. If significant opposition is met then you may have to be
diplomatic, but we are going to enforce a hard line on these matters, remember this.

The Scouting group was sent back out to the area in question, they have their orders also, however, you are to give them
assistance if they require it, and you can expect the same in return.

For Baron Sca'ara Fo'uld!

Debrief:
Well done men, the current undead threat seems to have been removed, congratulations. Thanks to your efforts the goblins in
the area seem to be thinning out, and hopefully the Orcs you encountered will take this as a sign that we are here to stay
and will not yield to their primitive violence.

Marshal Fawkes, the book that you found should not have been handed to your guild head, Marshal Stefanson. I am the mission
commander, all information and evidence should have been delivered to me. I suggest you all remember this in the future, no
matter the situation it is your duty to report to me, first and foremost. The book was delivered to me for appropriate
processing and after revision my the Board of guilds it is now in the possession of High Master Extravitous. Initial study
reveals that the black robed man who was unfortunately killed whilst resisting arrest was not in fact a necromancer, but was
a follower of death. There seem to be descriptions of how the forces of death can raise undead, with only the use of
miraculous powers. This is only first conclusions, however, from now on do not assume all creators of undead are
necromancers.

I am sorry to hear however that Humacti Touton fell to a skeleton, from the reports of this encounter the event was
unfortunately unavoidable. His body was taken to Marshal Stefanson and is awaiting resurrection, Humact Blackfield and Healer
Secras thank you for your diligence on returning the body, since there are rumours that parties from other Baronies, are in
the habit of returning with only the victims head. They request that this does not occur in Barons Sca'ara Fo'uld's Barony.

Scaffold: Are the Lumberjacks ok? (12/10/2003)

*** Mission ***

Brief:
Last week a group of lumberjacks disappeared whilst felling trees on the southern outskirts of the Barony. A pathfinder
[Raymon - human] was sent to scout the nearby forest in search of the missing men, 2 days ago, but did not return. You are to
enter the forest where the woodsmen disappeared and try to discover their whereabouts.

The risk levels of the local flora and fauna is currently unknown, a few farm animals have gone missing but the culprit(s)
are unknown. Our trackers have made out tracks of wolves in the area, but humanoid inhabitation hasn't been confirmed due to
our own activities in the area. Ensure to take all adequate precautions, assume danger until proven otherwise.

Good luck men, for Sca'ara Fo'uld!

Debrief:
The Wolves, Tree Goblins and Ogre encountered, despite being an annoyance and dangerous foe, are relatively common and their
presence here is not a great concern. The fate of the Lumberjacks, however, is. The discovery of undead in this area,
combined with the fact that the corpses were that of Barony citizens, suggest the presence of creatures more dangerous than
mere goblinoids. Tree Goblins and certainly ogres are not known to be able to animate the dead, therefore an unknown party is
involved.

From all reports it seems the party performed admirably, particular commendation goes to Guard Thyreous for maintaining party
order and Pathfinder Daenaram for demonstrating scouting skill beyond his experience. Keep up this level of dedication to the
Baron and you will go far.

1) Well done everyone, for your first LARP you worked together fantastically. We rarely see that level of party coherency,
even from the experienced guys. It is also nice to see so many guards in a party, it's a rare sight but worked well. Above is
a list of the points you have earned for the mission, if you didn't get a bonus point, don't worry, you were all great for
your first time out, if anything was really bad then you would have got negative points!
